2D Cartoon Animation - Beginning to Advanced
Instructor: Hania Bielec
Schedule: (8 sessions/2 hours) Thursdays - 6:00 pm-8:00 pm Aug 27, Sept 3, 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8 & 15
Express yourself in the third dimension (that dimension being time)! Learn about the fascinating world of 2D animation in this in-depth, hands-on course. Sketch out ideas for figures and movement and learn to translate your ideas into characters and action. Practice your animation skills with new techniques that will add energy and style to your scenes. Learn how adding motion, follow-through, exaggeration and more brings life and emotion to your drawings. Students will learn complex movements - such as animating in perspective, key poses, facial gestures, and run/walk cycles. Learn how to create thumbnails and keyframes to plan out movement and pace. Experiment with ways to depict character expressions through gesture and timing. Add new dimensions to your art by being able to include dialog and facial expression. Find out about the animation industry and what it takes to get your vision out there. All tools and materials will be provided.

2D Animation Class - Beginner
Instructor: Hania Bielec
Schedule: (2 sessions/2 hours) - 6:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday Sept 1 & Wednesday Sept 2
Discover the fun world of 2D animation! Learn the basic principles of hand-drawn animation and apply them to bring your drawings to life. Students will learn how to capture animated movement through in-class exercises and tutorials on how to properly get started. Experiment with animation software. Create fun drawings to animate. Learn animation planning by crafting your own scene and sketching appealing key poses. Under 14 must be accompanied by a parent.
